The Strokes…It took me quite a while to make up my mind whether I like them or not. I do. I bought the “Is this it” 2001 release just the other day. I gave in after hearing them appear on one of my Pandora Radio “stations” many times over. Who is that I asked as I looked at the Macbook screen…Oh, it’s The Strokes again. OK, one data point after another piled up on the positive side of the ledger.

I still wonder if they have staying power. I define that term to mean…will I be delighted to put this album on for a friend 5-10 years from now? Not sure. But for the short term I am really enjoying this band!

While many critics rave about “Is this it”, the second release was not as well received…some cried Sophomore slump.  Any lesser band might have diverted wildly from the sound of the first two.  Not so.

After listening to song samples from the 3rd album “First Impressions of Earth” I am tempted to place yet another order.
